Peloton Training with Fiona Ford

All the dates below are led and coached by by pro triathlete, level 3 BTF coach and Full Swim Smoth Certified coach, Fiona Ford.

All courses are all fully catered for by in-house chef Peter Harrison, who will also provide quality nutrition and snacks throughout the day.  They include 3 nights stay in the luxurious boutique accommodation of Butley Barns.

The newly built training facilities include a Wattbike studio, Elite Endless pool and transition area, there are even 15 new Trek mountain bikes and British Cycling mountain bike guides for the more adventurous to hit the single-track trails after dark!

Long distance triathlon weekend – 20th to 22nd June

This weekend is aimed at long distance triathletes preparing for Ironman events, providing advice and support based on performing competitively at long distance triathlon.  Fiona is a multiple top ten (overall/ Pro) finisher and has raced long distance all over the world. The 3 days will use 2 great local events – the Great East Swim on Saturday 21st, with open water distances of 1, 2 and 3 miles and the Saxon Classic 100-mile Sportive on Sunday 22nd (for each event, entry is not included).  Both events will test athletes as they then transition under race conditions from finish onto their bike and or run to return to Butley Barns.  Simulation of these transitions, with full support vehicle and Fiona’s coaching is a rare opportunity and will be invaluable training to help you go long!

There will be SwimSmooth video analysis, race strategy seminar, nutrition advice, post work-out massages and yoga based stretching.  You will also have a chance to discuss your training plans with Fiona and adapt them if required.

Race tuning weekend – 8th to 10th August

A long weekend to help triathletes in race condition sustain and extend peak performance late into the season, using a change in scenery, approach and tried / tested sessions to perform at the highest level. Technical training will be a key focus, as are key skills such as open water strategies, race bike time-trialing, run pacing and ‘rescue’ sessions for recovery, race day mindset or coping with adversity and pro led sub 1-minute transition workshop. There will be video swim stroke correction sessions in the Endless pool, training plan consultations and nutrition advice as well as optional night MTB, Retul bike fitting and early morning runs along the river.

The combination of world-class coaching, inspiring scenery and a weekend of nutritious homemade catering, will leave you fully recharged and race ready!

Extend the season – 19th to 21st September

Another chance to attend this popular race tuning weekend is a great option for those wanting to sustain and extend peak performance late into the season.  For athletes racing into the Autumn, using inspiring scenery and exposure to a quality training approach using tried / tested sessions will help you perform at the highest level. Technical training will be a key focus, as are key skills such as open water strategies, race bike time-trialing, run pacing and ‘rescue’ sessions for recovery such as Yoga for athletes, race day mindset or coping with adversity and pro led sub 1 minute transition workshop. There will be video swim stroke correction sessions in the Endless pool, training plan consultations and nutrition advice as well as optional night MTB, Retul bike fitting and early morning runs along the river.

Next season starts here – 3rd to 5th October

This long weekend aims to provide triathletes with the tools, methods and data required to analyse their performance and begin structuring their approach for the next season.  This is a great time of year to establish base data and structure solid training plans for the year ahead.  The weekend will focus on Wattbike performance testing, SwimSmooth video analysis, Cooper run testing and gait analysis, alongside a comprehensive program of nutrition workshops, yoga for athletes, night time mountain biking and training consultations over the 3 days. You will also have the option to do a Retul bike fitting.
